The flare CONTROL P3-L module provides basic phase control (phase sequence, phase position, and phase failure) for voltages from 200 to 500VAC, while the flare CONTROL P3-LTN module delivers advanced control functions, including voltage balance, adjustable time delays, and overvoltage/undervoltage monitoring, as well as accommodates four-wire, three phase systems with a neutral connection. Both modules feature one changeover contact, in addition to multiple LEDs for monitoring and diagnostics.
“An incorrect sequence in motor phases changes the rotational direction of the motor, which could potentially cause catastrophic results. Wieland’s P3-L relays detect phase imbalances before damage can occur,” said Martin Lalonde, application engineer at Wieland Electric. “When a phase imbalance occurs in a three-phase motor circuit, it causes an unequal load, which decreases the power and efficiency of the connected motor, increases the total thermal load on the system, and can lead to motor failure. As such, Wieland’s new P3-L and P3-LTN phase monitors were built to quickly and accurately diagnose these problems, ensuring that the systems they’re designed into continue running properly.”
Wieland’s flare CONTROL P3-L and P3-LTN phase control relays are housed in 22.5mm wide DIN rail modules, and feature screw connections and both (cURus) and CE approvals. Operating temperature for the series spans -20°C to +60°C.
